Podcast: Dale Holmes and Jamie Staff on Jr. Devo

January 23, 2017 by

Kamren Larsen is one of four riders on USAC BMX Devo

USA Cycling took the Olympic year of 2016 off from Junior Development programming. Thanks to a new partnership with Dale Holmes, 2017 will see an expansion beyond the “camp” programming with which we are all familiar, and USAC will field a team of four hand-picked BMXers to receive intensive mentoring, training and grooming to get them ready for the UCI Junior Elite classes, then on to Elite in their 19th year.

Here is the 2017 U.S. Junior Development BMX Team roster:

Kamren Larsen (17-18x/Junior Men, Bakersfield, California)
Noah Ramos (15x, Meadow Vista, California)
Payton Ridenour (15G, Pottstown, Pennsylvania)
Colin Whittington (17-18x/Junior Men, Riverside, California).

We sat down with Dale and USA Cycling BMX Program Director, Jamie Staff to hear about the program, and talk about some general BMX points for the new year.

The team will ride Haro frames and ANSR gear, with support from a still-forming cadre of co-sponsors. We are definitely looking forward to seeing this fabulous foursome, and their star-studded lineup of coaches and mentors at a USA BMX race very soon. Keep your eyes here on News for updates on the program throughout the season.
